Brain Fog Got You Feeling Cloudy? How To Get Rid Of Brain Fog For Good!
Brain fog is extremely common. There are a number of potential causes of brain fog. However, reducing and even eliminating brain fog seems to be more difficult than it truly has to be. There are a number of things you can do to not only reduce brain fog but completely eliminate it fast!
It can be frustrating and in most cases, you need to reduce it quickly before it ruins your entire day! The good news is that we have put together a number of strategies that are quickly effective and that you can implement to eliminate brain fog immediately.
What is Brain Fog?
Brain fog is defined as the “clouding of consciousness.”
You may have experienced this mental fogginess at one point or another. Brain fog may be fairly common, but some people experience it far more often than others. This can debilitate your ability to think clearly and stay productive.
Some of the symptoms of brain fog coincide with other mental disorders, including ADD and/or ADHD. Brain fog symptoms may include confusion, problems with memory and an overall lack of focus.
It can feel like a complete absence of mental clarity, making it extremely difficult to think clearly.
I have personally struggled with brain fog at various times throughout my life and although, it is not technically a medical term, the combination of brain fog symptoms and ADHD symptoms, can send a person down a spiral of confusion and frustration.
What Causes Brain Fog?
There are many potential causes of brain fog. Some are more serious than others. Brain fog may be the result of some of the following:
- Sleep Deprivation – A lack of sleep in general, which is especially common for those suffering from ADHD sleep disorder.
- Low Blood Sugar
- Seasonal or Food allergies
- Certain Prescription Medications
- Substance Abuse or even a night or two of heavy partying
- Stress – The common cause of many of our problems. Stress can actually lead to other issues that can have a direct effect on your mental clarity. Stress can, in many cases, lead to depression, anxiety, insomnia, substance abuse, which in turn, commonly leads to worse brain fog.
- Imbalanced Diet – Consuming a balanced diet, containing certain Brain Foods, can dramatically improve overall brain health.
What to Do about Brain Fog?
There are quite a few things that you can do to help alleviate the symptoms of brain fog. It is best practice to utilize a combination of these methods to keep yourself mentally sharp.
Many of these suggestions might sound “easy, simple, or typical” and that is because they are!
But here's the deal:
Are you doing them? Start simple and notice the brain fog start to disappear before looking for more complicated solutions.
They will not only help eliminate brain fog but will help to dramatically improve overall health and cognitive functioning. The following is a list of effective ways to help eliminate brain fog:
1. Eat More Real Whole Foods –
Eating whole foods and knowing which whole foods to eat can help reduce brain fog. There is a variety of brain foods that you should consider adding to your daily diet.
However, there are also foods that are bad for the brain and should be avoided. In fact, some of these bad brain foods may even be leading to your issues with brain fog.
2. Exercise –
Exercise is one of the most important things that you can do for your brain. This does not mean that you need to partake in intense, daily workout routines. It is a misconception that causes some people to become complacent.
Daily exercises can be simple and short, while still delivering, maximum benefits to overall brain health. Walking, moving around, running and other simple exercises increases endorphins and sends more oxygen to the brain.
3. Meditation – Over 20 million Americans, including myself, meditate daily.
Meditation improves focus, reduces stress, and helps support overall mental clarity. If that wasn't enough to convince you, research has shown that it can actually decrease your biological age by up to 12 years!
Meditation is something that is easier to start than most people think. I had shunned the idea of meditation for years, no matter how many times it had been recommended to me and it has been a true life changer. The hardest step for most people is simply, getting started, but today, it's never been more easy or convenient.
One of the most effective, convenient, and easiest ways to get started with simple meditation, using brainwave technology.
There is literally something here for EVERYONE, which is why Focus Here and Now has decided to partner with iAwake to provide our readers with the most innovative and effective meditation technologies available online, today.
It is a common misconception that you need to devote an hour or more to meditation each day. I meditate 10-12 minutes every morning and sometimes again in the evening. You will be amazed how effective just 10-15 mins a day of meditation can be for you.
You can literally get started right now, by trying it out their FREE meditation. Don't take anyone's word for it. I didn't. Try one 20 minute session and notice the difference.
Additional FREE Meditation Options for Brain Fog and ADHD
Another incredible and FREE resource for meditation that I would encourage anyone to try to help eliminate that brain fog and start thinking with more clarity and feeling more zen is called, Achieve Zen!
You will feel the difference more quickly than you may expect and like me, you will probably be asking yourself, why you didn't start doing it sooner. Achieve Zen's FREE meditation program will prove to you that the effects of an hour of expensive “in-house” meditation can be achieved in just 10-12 minutes a day.
Nootropics and Brain Fog
Nootropics are a popular topic of conversation these days. As someone who has personally struggled with ADHD for the majority of their life, as well as battled frequent cases of brain fog, I decided to conduct a comprehensive nootropic experiment.
What are nootropics?
Nootropics are natural supplements that have shown to improve focus, memory, mental clarity and cognitive function. These cognitive enhancers had originally been experimented with most frequently, in their pure powder forms.
Over the past few years, quite a few brain supplement companies have developed compounded nootropic supplements that can be consumed daily, like a multi-vitamin.
Not all nootropics are created equal. Some are combined with stimulants, like Addieup and end up being nothing more than an energy pill with a variety of side effects, which exactly what I was attempting to avoid.
Check out all of the good, the bad, and the ugly of the various nootropic supplement reviews I have conducted over the past four years.
Nootropics that Help Eliminate Brain Fog
There are so many websites out there talking about nootropics and the “next big thing.” The difference at Focus Here and Now is that we have been thoroughly testing and reviewing ALL of these nootropic supplements for nearly two years and providing honest, unbiased, comprehensive nootropic supplement reviews about all of them.
Here's the deal:
They are NOT all created equally and we do not recommend all of them. We only recommend the nootropics that work. So what nootropics work when we are specifically looking to eliminate brain fog?
I was fortunate enough to come across some other nootropic supplements that actually, provided the benefits that were claimed. An excellent daily nootropic supplement that I reviewed was OptiMind, which specifically helps eliminate brain fog while also improving focus, energy, and overall cognitive function.
I found that OptiMind provided me with a noticeable mental advantage.
However, OptiMind may not be the right choice for everyone so make sure to also read about the top 10 brain supplements we reviewed.
So far the two pre-formulated nootropic supplements that have stood out most for me have been both Optimind and Nitrovit. Both provided results that I hoped for in a nootropic supplement and believe me when I tell you that not all nootropics I tested were created equally.
Some brain supplements are flat out scams. So, while some websites will “recommend” any and everything under the sun, we will only recommend products that have truly provided real results.
Read about the brain supplement scams to avoid, here.
Nootropics have been the unexpected, but pleasant surprise that I have discovered and supplemented with another simple, natural ADD/ADHD treatments.
Based on the plethora of feedback I have received, they are also excellent tools in providing just about any and everyone with a better mental clarity and edge.
Recent Nootropic Supplement Reviews
More recently, I put the world's first nootropic “Think Drink” to the test. TruBrain has claimed to provide a superior quality nootropic blend that was created behind the minds and research of real neuroscience.
I don't think I could have possibly held this particular nootropic supplement to a higher standard, especially considering that it's self-proclaimed high quality, also comes with a higher price. The bar was set very high and this particular blend was very different and unique from other nootropics that I had tested, including OptiMind.
However, before you spend the money on truBrain, you can read my comprehensive review of the new “Think Drinks.”
Most recently, I took a full month to review CILTEP, the popular nootropic that continues to generate a buzz, after endorser and 2014 World Series of Poker Champion, Martin Jacobsen. I took my time getting to understand this unique nootropic supplement and made it my goal to find out if the hype was real.
Most recently, the creators of CILTEP started a new company called Axon Labs with the purpose of taking cognitive enhancement to the next level. Essentially, they removed the limitations of all-natural nootropics to have the ability to utilize some of the more potent and powerful combinations.
The result was the Nexus advanced nootropic stack and Mitogen Advanced mitochondrial support stack. I just completed a thorough review of both supplements and found them not only them to be an extremely effective nootropic stack, but also very effective at helping to reduce brain fog!
The Bottom Line About Brain Fog
The bottom line is that brain fog can be very frustrating and hold us back from being productive. However, if you take the necessary actions, by making some simple changes, while adding natural, high-quality supplementation to the equation, it can be virtually eliminated, forever.
I personally practice each and every one of these suggestions on a daily basis and continue to see noticeable improvements to my overall, cognitive abilities. It also feels great to receive positive feedback from friends and family that have also noticed significant mental improvements, since I have continued to implement natural ADHD treatments and brain enhancement supplements to effectively manage my disorder.
All of the suggestions made here will help to not only eliminate brain fog, but significantly reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental symptoms that may be aggravating other areas, including, but not limited to ADD/ADHD symptoms.
The bottom line:
Brain fog can be eliminated for good! Say goodbye to a cloudy mind and make brain fog a thing of your past!
